Resorts World Manila yesterday said it is releasing financial assistance to the victims and their families to address their immediate needs.
“On top of the funeral and burial assistance that Resorts World Manila will shoulder, we are extending P1 million to the families of the deceased,” the company said in a statement dated June 3, 2017.
The company said that while nothing can ever replace the lives of loved ones, “with this financial assistance, we hope that we will be able to somehow help each family hurdle through their needs during this most difficult time.”
At least 37 people were killed when a lone gunman entered Resorts World Manila, fired his gun, and set tables and other facilities on fire. Most of the fatalities died from suffocation due to the fire.
