DAVAO CITY (June 24, 2016) — The first integrated safety and rescue facility in the country with police, fire, and Central 911 stations in one address was inaugurated in Davao City on June 21, 2016.

Located in Northtown, Cabantian, the 2,000-square meter facility was formally turned over by Davao-based real estate developer Alsons Development and Investment Corporation (Alsons Dev) as a donation to the City Government of Davao.

The Alsons Public Safety Complex features a two-storey Central 911 station with an infirmary and standby ambulance; a one-storey police station with two detention cells; and a two-storey Fire Station with two standby fire trucks.

This allows the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire, and Central 911 to streamline their response to distress calls as they provide 24-hour medical, rescue, fire, K-9, and police assistance.

The facility serves the areas of Cabantian, Indangan, Acacia, Tigatto, and other barangays in the Buhangin District, one of the most populous areas in Davao City. It is expected to cut down response times as nearby communities will no longer have to rely on the Central 911 station in Panacan, which is 13 kilometers away.

“The Alsons Public Safety Complex is our modest way of giving back to Davaoeños, who have been our customers, clients, and partners for over 50 years,” Alsons Dev Executive Vice-President Rosie A. Dominguez said. “We are proud to partner with the City Government in continuing to make Davao one of the safest and most livable places in the world.”

The facility is the culmination of a memorandum of understanding first signed in 2013 in which Alsons Dev committed to constructing the public safety complex which the city government will operate.

Construction began in July 2015 with Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte, who is now President-elect, as the guest of honor during the groundbreaking. The comple x was completed in April this year.

To date, the PNP, BFP and Central 911 stations in the complex are fully operational.
