“Anino sa Likod ng Buwan,” a movie by Director Jun Robles Lana recently screened to packed cinemas in Davao City. The film stars LJ Reyes, Luis Alandy, and Anthony Falcon.
In a message sent to Mindanation.com, the film’s producer Perci Intalan said that they are “touched that Gaisano quickly said yes to Anino. We felt more welcome outside of Manila. Nakakataba ng puso. I also heard that there’s a big appreciation for arthouse films in Davao. Lalo na a film like ours that has a very strong socio political theme.”
“Anino” is set amidst the “armed conflict between the Philippine military and the communist resistance at the beginning of the 1990s.” This forms the backdrop to lives of three individuals who, for different reasons, are trying to come to grips with the challenges and difficulties during those turbulent times.
