MANILA, February 1, 2017 (PNA) — Former Senior Superintendent Cesar Mancao II of the defunct Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force (PAOCTF) has surrendered to the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG).
PNP-CIDG National Capital Region (NCR) director Senior Superintendent Belli Tamayo confirmed that Mancao is now in custody in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Tamayo said Mancao voluntarily surrendered in his office in Camp Crame on Monday.
Mancao is accused in the abduction and murder of noted publicist Salvador “Bubby” Dacer and his driver Emmanuel Corbito in November 2000.
Mancao escaped from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Detention Center in May 2013.
The warrant of arrest against Mancao was immediately returned to the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 18 on Tuesday.
Mancao is now in the custody of the CIDG-NCR while awaiting for the commitment order from the Manila RTC. (Perfecto T. Raymundo/PNA)
