DAVAO CITY, Apr. 11, 2017 – President Rodrigo Duterte said Nur Misuari has sought for time to meet among the Moro National Liberation Front for an agreement that is amenable within the organization.

Misuari’s provisional liberty, which was granted after President Duterte’s granting months ago, will be ending on Apr. 27.

Duterte said that there was likely one draft of a proposed Bangsamoro Draft Law that would be certified urgent.

“That is what we want. Misuari has talked to me and he asked me to give him time to craft an agreement within the MN, pareho rin sa MI, so they can firm up their minimum barest demands within the infrastructure of federalism. So wala ako, I know that he is supposed to be in prison, but you know at some point in time, Carol, we cannot be forever quarrelling with our enemies,” Duterte said.

Duterte said ideally, there would be one consensus among the MNLF, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, and the government panel.

“I want the wars between the Filipinos ended. And you know, besides, Carol, I cannot wage a war against my own people,” Duterte said.
