Vocal supporter of PRRD Lorraine Badoy has taken to Facebook to share the good news: Boracay’s waters, which until recently were the poster for pollution and shortsighted development, have now returned to a state of cleanliness after a few months of mandated closure. The drastic move was called for by President Rodrigo Duterte in order to finally curtain the pollution and substandard water quality treatment that had come to be as synonymous with the island as its party nightlife.

In her post, Badoy praises the rehabilitation effort and its results. Attached to the post is a photo of a third party analysis’ results showing that the effluent water quality in Boracay is now 100% compliant with DENR water discharge quality guidelines and that all tested samples passed DENR SB Standards.
