A drug peddler was killed in Camarines Norte during a buy-bust operation where he sold undercover polcie officers sachets of suspected shabu.

A suspected drug pusher was killed during a police operation along Maharlika Highway at Barangay Tabugon, Sta. Elena town, Camarines Norte on Sunday night.

According to the police report released Monday, the suspect was one Rufo Tioson of Bacoor, Cavite. Tioson was an alleged drug peddler operating in Sta. Elena town.

Around 9:15pm, the suspect was caught by undercover police agents to whom he sold three heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu worth P20,000.

According to Chief Insp. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Police Regional Office-5 spokesperson, the suspect resisted arrest after learning it was a buy-bust operation. This then led to an armed confrontation between the suspect and police personnel.

Tioson was wounded during the confrontation and was rushed to the Rovima Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
