Jeyrick Sigmaton rose to viral fame in  2016 when photos taken of him circulated online. Sigmaton was working the fields of Bauko Mountain in the Mountain province when the photos were taken. He was captured carrying a sack of carrots, earning him the nickname Carrotman. Netizen’s shared the photos and commented on his good looks.

Sigmaton recounted the events that led to his fame in an interview withABS-CBN’s Pipol.

Afterwards, he would often hear people exclaim ‘Uy, si Carrot Man!’ when he was out in public.

Sigmaton is a member of the Igorot ethnic groups. He admits that when he first started gaining fame he didn’t see what all the fuss was about. Soon after appearing on shows like Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, Bubble Gang, Unang Hirit, Sunday PinaSaya, and Wowowin, he adopted a new look, trading his long locks for a modern haircut and ditching the baggy pants and hoodies. After the makeover, Sigmaton says he finally saw what all the fuss was about.

However, since his 15 minutes, the gigs have slowed down and endorsement deals or guestings are becoming more rare. Having returned to Baguio with his family, the young man is planning his next career steps.

It seems the direction he wants to take it is towards Kuya’s House. Sigmaton expressed interest in entering Pinoy Big Brother as a housemate. His motivation is partly because of the encouragement of admirers and family members who believe in his potential stardom.
