President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed former Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Roy Cimatu as Environment and Natural Resources Secretary, replacing Gina Lopez whose appointment was rejected by the Commission on Appointments (CA) last week.
The announcement was made by Malacañang today. It also provided photos of the President signing Cimatu’s appointment papers.
Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol also posted photos of Duterte swearing Cimatu in.
“President Rody Duterte today swore to office former Ambassador Roy Cimatu as new Secretary of the Dept of Environment.and Natural Resources. Secretary Cimatu takes over from former secretary Regina Lopez whose appointment was rejected by the Commission on Appointments,” Piñol said in his post.
