DAVAO CITY, December 26, 2016 — President Rodrigo Duterte will be shouldering the hospital fees and other expenses of the 18 victims of the Midsayap blast.
According to a media release from the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), Duterte made the vow himself during his visit to he victims on Christmas Day.
A total of 18 victims have been admitted at the Anecito T. Pesante Sr. Memorial Hospital and Cotabato Regional Medical Center in Cotabato and the Southern Philippines Medical Center in Davao City.
According to reports, the blast had a 30-meter radius and exploded during Christmas Eve Mass at the Sto. Nino Church in Midsayap, North Cotabato.
Reports also said the churchgoers may not have been the targets but the police, but this is not yet confirmed.

Duterte personally handed cash envelopes to 15 of the victims who were at the Midsayap hospital, with the funding coming from the Presidential Social Fund.
