DAVAO CITY, May 25, 2017 — President Rodrigo Duterte has submitted his report on the declaration of martial law and the suspension of the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus in Mindanao.

The Presidential Communications Office released the photo in the middle of an ongoing cabinet meeting held at the Presidential Guest House at the Department of Public Works and Highways depot in Panacan, Davao City.

Receiving the report were the leaders of both houses of Congress, House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez and Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III.

The 1987 Constitution requires Congress to concur or deny the President’s declaration 48 hours after the proclamation of martial law.
