Hours after the Gilas Pilipinas teas was eliminated from the PBA Commissioner’s Cup, team member Terrence Romeo was reportedly involved in a fight at a bar located in Quezon City. The incident occurred in the wee hours of Thursday morning.

The fight allegedly began when a fan asked Romeo for a photo. From there, a male companion of Romeo punched complainant Darwin Pilena. The leap between these two events is quite wide, but in the confusion, Romeo maintains that he himself was not a part of the actual fight.

Both parties involved in the incident were brought to the police station, but it seems that Romeo at least has been let free. He tweeted the same night to clarify that he was not being held in prison or in the police station. He told his followers that there was “no need to make a fuss.” Then he advisesd everyone to “Watch the CCTV, I believe it’s somewhere in social media right now. I didn’t do anything. Let the video speak for itself.”

Romeo ended his tweet by clarifying that both camps were okay, even after the ordeal.

CCTV footage of the incident is circulating online. A video captured by a security camera of the bar where the incident occurred has been posted to Twitter. User @MangTomas19 posted the video and captioned it with a support of Romeo’s claim.

Romeo is one of the nine Gilas Pilipinas players who were involved in the July 2 brawl at a FIBA World Qualifiers game against Australia.
