iKON, a popular South Korean boy group, has expressed their desire to return to the Philippines, including adding a stop in the country for their upcoming tour.
“We are excited and we hope to visit the Philippines soon for our tour,” the group said through an interpreter.
The group talked of their plans to return to the country when they were in Manila on Tuesday evening for the Philippine launch of the Samsung S10.
During the Samsung phone launch, idols Bobby, Jinhwan, Ju-ne, Donghyuk, Chanwoo, B.I. and Yunhyeong performed three songs for a crowd of more than a thousand fans, Samsung executives, dealers, and media.
This was their second time in the country, having been here in November last year for a concert.
iKON member reportedly picked up a few Filipino phrases and words during their short time here, saying in an interview “sakit ako tiyan”, and “sakit akin ilong”. Next time the group comes to the country, the quick-learning idols are surely going to pick up more phrases.
The group formed in 2015 and released their debut studio album, “Welcome Back”, the same year. The album was produced by the group’s leader B.I.
iKON is known for the song “Love Scenario” and is managed by YG Entertainment, the same company that manages the girl group Blackpink.
