February 23, 2017 — Filipino supporters of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau got a surprise treat late last month when he visited the iconic fast food restaurant Jollibee in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
A source told MindaNation that Trudeau breezed into the store on January 26 and took the time to shake hands with shocked customers and crew members.
He also posed for several photos before leaving for his next appointment.
“It was an unannounced visit. He was on his way to the Winnipeg Town Hall meeting,” a source said.
Trudeau was invited by MP Kevin Lamoureux, who told Trudeau Jollibee is “the McDonalds/KFC of the Philippines.”
The Winnipeg Jollibee is the Philippine company’s first store in Canada. It opened on December 15, 2016. (Read: Filipinos brave sub-zero Winnipeg weather for Jollibee opening)
