Mariel Rodriguez returns to showbiz

- in Entertainment, News

It’s been two years since Mariel Rodriguez took a break from showbiz to focus on other things. At the time, she was pregnant with her daughter Isabella. But last Monday, she returned to take the stage at the favorite noontime show, It’s Showtime. It seems the time away has only been good to Rodriguez, who returned to the screen looking fit and glowing.

The show’s hosts all welcomed her back into the spotlight with open arms. The day’s cast featured Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Jugs Jugueta, Amy Perez, Karylle, Teddy Corpuz, Anne Curtis and Vice Ganda.

Audiences were treated to Rodriguez’s honest and open thoughts about both her leave and return to showbiz. They were also able to hear how grateful the actress is to be back and how much she missed being here.

“Grabe sobra ko kayong na-miss. Nakakaiyak pero pinipigilan ko. Miss ko kayo, grabe all of you,” Rodriguez said. “Na-miss ko talaga kayo, lahat kayong nandito, sa mga nasa tahanan nila. Na-miss ko kayong lahat it feels good to be back. It feels good to have a home to come back to,” she added. Clearly, the model-host-actress is excited to return.

Rodriguez and her husband, Robin Padilla, welcomed their daughter Isabella into the world on November 17, 2016. The birth happened in the United States. Though little Isabella is soon turning 2, for Rodriguez, motherhood seems to have been nothing short of a blessing.

Rodriguez spoke to It’s Showtime’s hosts about the joys of motherhood: “It has been the best experience of my life. Really ang sarap. Ngayon, sabi ko nga, iba kapag nakakakita ako ng moms ngayon.”

The special episode of It’s Showtime also included touching video messages for Rodriguez from her husband Robin Padilla and good friend Toni Gonzaga.
