The Department of Transportation has been taking a vocal approach to social media. It’s constantly updating citizens of project progress, the work of agency executives and responding to the concerns put forth to their pages. The DOTr has even used social media to combat misinformation.
Yesterday, the transportation agency asked citizens whether they were happy with the social media treatment they’ve been receiving. Unsurprisingly, the poll was clear – people are satisfied with the public service they have been seeing on their Facebook feeds.
People were overwhelmingly positive and their comments showed that the efforts made to increase transparency and accessibility have been appreciated.
