DAVAO CITY, March 21, 2017 — Road rage suspect David Lim Jr. is now under the custody of authorities, Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go told reporters.

Go forwarded a text message by the regional director of the Police Regional Office 7 Noli Taliño, who said he had received the surrender of Lim, who was accompanied by his mother Bebong Lim, at 2 a.m. today.

“He is now temporarily under my custody at the office of RID pending the filing of case in court,” Taliño told Go.

Lim’s mother had earlier reached out to Go regarding the planned surrender, with the family asking for their son’s safety.

“Sir Bong, the family decided to follow your advise to surrender my son David Lim Jr. to the regional commander Chief Superintendent Noli Talino tomorrow,” Lim told Go, who shared the message to members of the press.

Lim was involved in an altercation with a nurse who ended up being wounded by a gunshot in a road incident last week.

Lim, along with a woman, and the victim were seen via dash camera in a heated argument. The video went viral online.
