Rufa Mae spills the truth about long-distance relationships

The actress speaks candidly about how to make things work

Actress Rufa Mae Quinto opened up on Wednesday’s episode of “Magandang Buhay” to confess her feelings about her long-distance relationship with her husband Trevor Magallanes.

Magallanes is a financial analyst based in San Franciso, while Quinto continues to work in show business here in the Philippines. The couple are separated by over 11,000 kilometers, but that does not discourage Quinto. According to the actress, the distance and difficulties are endured by the couple in the hope of having a better life in the States. Ruffa spoke of her hardworking husband: “Nandiyan siya sa San Francisco. Nagnenegosyo diyan at kina-career niya ang bahay namin doon para mayroon kaming sosyal na bahay doon.”

About the difficulties of living far from your partner, Ruffa said she’s adjusted to the LDR, despite the initial hurdles.

Nakakasanayan ko na rin. Pero noong umpisa, parang magugunaw na ‘yung mundo. Iyak ako nang iyak mula umaga hanggang tanghali. Kasi parang feeling ko dapat magkasama kami rito. Ang maganda ngayon, may chance for improvement, space ba ang tawag doon?” the actress added.

The success of this love story is thanks in no small part to technology. Ruffa cited wifi and the internet as two big relationship helpers, bridging the gap and time difference between them. The couple can stay in regular contact, despite not being physically present with each other.

Ruffa ended with the sentiment that the couple is working hard and sacrificing for the future of their daughter, Athena. Athena and her family recently celebrated her first birthday in February.
