Baby Pancho, son of Saab Magalona and Jim Bacarro, has been welcomed into the Christian world for the second time. The ceremony was performed on July 15 at Sta. Maria della Strada Parish in Quezon city.

Bacarro shared on Instagram the reason why the family chose to have their son undergo the Sacrament of Baptism again. He explained that the first baptism was performed when Pancho was still in the ICU. They were urged to have a priest come in to baptize him, just in case of the worst scenario. At the time, mother Saab was also confined in the ICU, so she couldn’t be there.

He continued to recall how a young seminarian performed the rites, as “no priest was available”.

“Brother Franz was nervously shaking as he prayed over Pancho who was still hooked up to all those machines.”

Technically, this was Pancho’s 2nd baptism. When he was still in the ICU, we were urged to have a priest come and baptize him “just in case.” Since Saab was also confined in the ICU, she couldn’t be there. And because no priest was available, a very young brother training to be a priest came and performed the ritual. Brother Franz was nervously shaking as he prayed over Pancho who was still hooked up to all those machines. Although it was a great moment, we didn’t get to share it with Saab. So yesterday was a monumental day for our family. It wasn’t only Saab that was finally able to join us but also all the other people who have given our little family their love and support. Special shoutout to ninang @miabacarro for flying in just for the event.

The Cheats band member called the first baptism a “great moment”. Celebrating it for a second time with his wife Saab (and away from all those machines), Bacarro couldn’t be more grateful. He ended his post, “So yesterdat was a monumental day for our family. It wasn’t only Saab that was finally able to join us but also all the other people who have given our little family their love and support.”
