Senator Bong Go has personally offered his condolences to the Abunda family over the passing of their mother, Licerena  Romerica Abunda. Nanay Lesing, as she was fondly called, passed away on December 1 at the age of 90.

The Senator visited Nanay Lesing’s wake to stand with the grieving family in this time of mourning.

Nanay Lesing was an advocate for education. She worked as a grade school teacher for 43 years before transitioning to public office. Though retired for over a decade, she continued to inspire generations of Filipinos and impact the lives of millions more children. The work of her own children echo her advocacies.

Nanay Lesing is survived by her children, talk-show legend Boy Abunda and Congresswoman of the Lone District of Eastern Samar Maria Fe Abunda.
