MANILA, November 14, 2016 (PNA) — Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa today said he is ready to be imprisoned if the Office of the Ombudsman (Ombudsman) proves  he has committed graft.

Bato is currently being investigated by the Ombudsman over his alleged admission that he was given a free trip to Las Vegas, Nevada to watch the boxing fight of Senator Manny Pacquiao on November 5.

Dela Rosa said he sees nothing wrong in accepting the invitation of his close friend Paquiao, who footed the bill for his trip to the US.

He said if he is ever sent to prison, he at least made his family happy without resorting to corruption.

Dela Rosa also said he has high regard for Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales, adding the latter is “just doing her job.” (Perfecto T. Raymundo/PNA)
