MANILA, January 7, 2017 (PNA) — Efforts against illegal drugs, terrorist and lawless groups, and corruption will continue without fail.

This was stressed by President Rodrigo Duterte to ranking officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) during the New Year Joint AFP-PNP Command Conference held at the Heroes Hall of Malacañang Palace last Friday.

“During the command conference, the Commander-in-Chief was provided a security update of the current national security situation by the AFP and an update on current law enforcement operations by the PNP,” AFP spokesperson Brigadier General Restituto Padilla said.

The conference started at 4 p.m. and ended at 6 p.m.

“The Commander-in-Chief in turn discussed the ongoing peace process with the CPP/NPA/NDF and secessionist groups. He also reiterated his guidance on the campaign against drugs, terrorist groups, lawlessness and corruption,” he added.

Padilla said the President assured all AFP and PNP officials of his all-out support and commitment.

Duterte had to leave immediately to condole with the families of two slain policemen killed during a recent drug operation in Pasay City, Padilla said. (PNA)
