As the nation eagerly awaits the inauguration of their father, the children of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte quietly took their oath of office as the Mayor and Vice Mayor of Davao City.
Mayor Inday Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio, was elected for the second time to be the city’s chief executive after serving one term from 2010 to 2013, was sworn in by Executive Judge Emmanuel Carpio of RTC Branch 16
Her brother Paolo Z. Duterte, who was re-elected as vice mayor for a second term as vice mayor, took his oath before before Judge Rufino Ferraris Jr. of MTCC Branch 7.
They were accompanied by their mother Elizabeth Zimmerman, respective spouses, Atty. Mans Carpio and January Duterte, and their children and a few close friends.
Observers expect that Mayor Inday will build on her father’s pro-people agenda for Davao and continue to provide the same strong leadership that has made the city one of the Philippines most attractive investment destinations.
