MMFF Mini-review: Saving Sally

MMFF Mini-review: Saving Sally

- in Entertainment, Feature

Saving Sally revolves around Marty, a geeky comic artist who falls in love with his best friend Sally, a troubled inventor. A charming creative take on a “typical love story,” the film is shot in live-action and animated sequences. It combines Pinoy romcom and Hollywood romance sensibilities; think of a mix between “That Thing Called Tadhana” and “Can’t Hardly Wait” ( the 1998 Jennifer Love Hewitt starrer). Enzo Marcos as Marty resembles the Hollywoodish geeky romantic hero while Rhian Ramos as Sally is one beautiful Manic Pixie Dream Girl.

Watching the film answers the question why it took 10 years to be realized. It’s a cinematic labor of love. I really recommend this film. its currently shown on this week’s 2016 MMFF. #ShowSavingSally  #ImSavingSally
