Netizens react to biased CNN SEAG post – Where are the missing lyrics?

CNN Philippines’ coverage of the SEA Games closing ceremony was… Interesting to say the least. A better term would be “biased”. Their social media manager couldn’t get around the fact that the Black Eyed Peas reunited to perform for the event, so they found a sneaky way to insert their political agenda in for one last jab at the administration.

Look closely at the choice of lyrics CNN chose to highlight from the Black Eyed Peas’ hit, “Where Is The Love?”

Netizens were quick to notice this very loaded caption, so they suggested other lyrics from the same song that would have been more apt for the post.

Specifically, the pointed to lyrics which decry the role of biased media reporting in creating divisions in society.

The Games, which were targeted by anti-administration groups and attacked with fake news stories, were a success that earned recognition from the international sporting community. The Philippines’ hosting of the 30th Games is predicted to boost the nation’s economy by the 4th Quarter of 2019 and bring in further revenue from larger future hostings.
