The Philippine Malditas have secured their place in the semifinals of the women’s football tournament for the 2019 SEA Games through a 5-0 win against Team Malaysia. The match took place in the renovated Binan Football Stadium.
The Maldita’s fight for the semifinals slot was finally concluded after a strangehold with Myanmar. The Malditas were able to hold Myanmar to a nil-nil draw at the opening of the women’s tournament.
Earlier, Coach Let Dimzon had expressed her pride for her team after their stellar performance against favoured Myanmar, saying that the Malditas were both mentally tough and physically prepared to take on the plays of the visiting athletes.
