If you or anyone you know is in Davao right now, they would have felt the 6.3 magnitude earthquake which hit the region at 7:37 PM today. The Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office has released a statement to clarify that the city has sirens to alert for tsunami risk.
Should the sirens begin blaring, citizens are advised to begin preparing for a possible tsunami. However, if no siren is sounding, citizens should remain in a safe location with access to emergency supplies.
Please share this information with your social networks so that all citizens can properly prepare and monitor for siren sounds.
For emergencies, citizens can contact the city-wide emergency hotline, 911.
Stay safe and informed.
