WATCH: Entitled Manila driver counterflows to skip traffic between luxury villages

- in Philippines

Christmas time in the Philippines is a wonderful celebration. Unfortunately, it also brings horrible traffic to the country’s Metro capital. But most of us who choose to live in Manila just accept the transportation woes as part of life. Thankfully, the horrible traffic situation will soon be eased by a number of infrastructure projects in the pipeline now, like the subway and metro rail line extension projects. But for one very selfish, very naughty, and very entitled driver, this wasn’t enough for them.

A video posted by netizen Elbert Cuenca to the Dash Cam Diaries Philippines group shows a Toyota Prado with plate number LUT-111 counterflowing across EDSA, the metro’s main thoroughfare, as it attempted to transfer between luxury residential villages.

We get it, the Christmas party time crunch is real, but this is absolutely inexcusable.

Rather than following the rules of traffic and taking the long, legal route to go between the entrances, the driver took the short cut and inconvenienced everyone else on the road. Not only that, but the reckless driver put people in danger. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident.

The Toyota Prado (plate number LUT-111) reportedly exited the Amorsolo gate of Dasmarinas village in Makati and counterflowed to cross the relatively short distance to Ecology Village, Magallanes. The distance could easily have been covered by the lazy driver if they just parked their car inside the first village and walked to their second location. At least then they wouldn’t have added to the terrible traffic situation.

Luckily, the whole ordeal was caught on dashcam. Next time, this entitled, arrogant, asshole motorist will have no other choice but to walk or commute. Merry Christmas.
